Here I Am!

Six days later, and a few lbs heavier… I have enjoyed my week of recovery a. lot. I have been trying pretty much everything food wise I missed for 6 months. It plays a bit of havoc on the digestive system, but things are getting back to normal. I’m ready to get back into a training schedule that will build some muscle. It seems a bit harder with summer and no time constraints. I definitely do better on a strict schedule. I guess this will test my determination.

Some reflections I’ve had about competing: I feel so confident now. I know I can do pretty much anything I REALLY want to, fitness related. I know that competing has to be completely because I enoy it. The judges are going to be unpredictable so, I cannot base my satisfaction on any placings.

I also have to let go of any desires I have for people to support my decision to continue. If my husband is ok with it, then really anyone elses opinion is unimportant. Take it or leave it people, I don’t care.

My next goal is a 50 mile MS walk in September. I just decided today to go for it. My sister in law passed away last year from Multiple Sclerosis complications and my brother has been doing this walk for three years, and I have always thought about it. I’ve finally made the commitment. I have to raise $2400 minimum, but I think it will be pretty easy. Anyone wanna donate? :)

So, today is back to clean eating. I’m pretty certain I’ll be allowing a cheat once a week for awhile. I’ve got a trip to NY in a couple of weeks and a trip to the Northwest US in August. The next competition I’m thinking about is in October, so if I decide on doing it, I’m probably gonna do a hardcore 8 week prep. As long as I stay pretty clean bofore that I think I can do it. Right? Right!

Ok…off to drink my water.

Martha…it’s awesome that your are doing the MS walk. My best friend was just diagnosed with MS so I will donate for sure. I am planning on doing the 60 mile breast cancer walk in Nov… did a fantastic job on stage and in general..

I have fears of going the distance but it’s something I’d like to try. Seeing you, Beka and April achieve so much makes me feel better about it.

    Have a great weekend..

Email me and I’ll add you to my blog:)
