Here’s me…

No not Dr. Evil. The cat. I’ve shaved my legs, arms etc and I’m offically tan prepped. This is the stuff we do it for. The few days leading up to the actual day are so fun. The diet manipulation (not so healthy for long term) but very interesting to see the body’s response. The tanning…I pulled out the Jan Tana moisturizer and all the memories flooded back from my past shows. they were fun and all the days of chicken and greens fade away. The turned down desserts and parties don’t seem so bad after all.
Then the day of: Waking up early to make sure the tan is set, doing makeup and hair and finally donning the suit, meeting with all the athletes and those final last minute touch ups before stage. It all somehow makes it worth it. It’s the stuff that makes us nuts who swore up and down we would not EVER do this crap again, alas, do it again. and again.
Here is what I have left to do before Friday morning:
Shave
Moisturize
Wash 1 piece (yes it still has bikini bite from last time)
Pose
Find ABA membership card
Get cash for drug test and check for hotel
Download new audio book for any “down time”
Pack: Suits, shoes, black sweats, black sheets, makeup, curling iron, food, water, sweets for after, clothes for after! what else?
Ok, I’m sure I’m forgetting something.
One sad note for this show, my mom who has been the artist responsible for my tan twice will not be joining me. Since Jenn is doing it with me, we shall help each other with tanning. Mom will be manning the kiddos back home this time.
Ok, must sleep! xoxo

why black sheets? Good Luck!! Have fun!
Since Martha has gone to bed already, I’ll answer this one. The black sheets are for after you put on the fake tan stuff and then have to sleep in the hotel bed, to avoid staining the hotel sheets with the tanning stuff. Of course, you could use any color sheet, but if they’re your own sheets, then black is best so you won’t see the stains either.
First off – Have a great time this weekend!!! I’ll be routing for you from CO.
Second – in response to your comment on my blog. I completely agree that everyone has something to be thankful for, but I don’t think it should be limited to one day. I try each day to remind myself of at least 5 things I have to be thankful that particular day. Also I come from a obese, diabetic family that doesn’t take care of themselves and thanksgiving can just be so gluttonous. Lastly I could get over all of that if it was food that I liked. I don’t care for roasted turkey, pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce -etc . I tried doing a Lasagna thanksgiving one year and my dad was not impressed.
Ha! I couldn’t have said it any better! Good luck and have a blast!!
I am so excited for you and know just how you feel. I loved the week before the show!
LOL! Love the smooth kitty
Have a blast with Jenni, Martha!
