Testing

CFV announced that they will be testing the members to place people in Level 1 classes vs. Elements to break up the groups a bit and allow those working up to prescribed weights, etc. space to do so. I love the idea. I thought I’d post the standards.

Here they are:

Squats: 50 free squats
Push-ups: 10
Static hang: 30 seconds
Sit-ups: 30
Kettlebell Swings: 25
400 meter run: 2:00
Deadlift: 3/4 x bodyweight
Shoulder press: 1/4 x bodyweight
Sumo-Deadlift High-pull: M – 75lbs x 10 reps, W – 55lbs x 10 reps
Wall Ball: 25
500 meter row: M 1:55, W 2:20
Box jumps: 10 reps in 1 min to 12” box
Dips: M 3, W 1
Pull-ups: 3
L-sit: 10 seconds (above parallel)
2000 M row: M – 8:10, W – 9:50
Overhead Squats: M – 45lbs x 15 reps, W – 33lbs x 15 reps
7 rounds of Cindy in 20 minutes (AMRAP of 5 pull ups/ 10 push ups/ 15 squats)

And yes, all standards must be passed in one testing session. Most seem pretty do-able for me. The only one that freaks me out a bit is the 2000 M row not long after a 500M row. My little body does not love rowing, or maybe it’s my brain. All I know is last time we did the 1000 for time I couldn’t stand up afterward.
This will be coming up in a couple of weeks I think. I’ll let ya know how it goes.

    I can’t do any of it, but I used to row…on real water…and we would race those distances and some longer as well. You should try the real thing some time, its pretty cool.

    Hmmm…I don’t know what an L sit is. I’m guessing holding yourself on parallel bars with your feet up??? I know I could do a lot of these but honestly I don’t know if I could do it all in one testing session. I question my upper body strength. You Crossfitters are nuts!!! :) Good luck. You’ll be AWESOME. Can’t wait to hear how it goes for you!!
