Paleo Day 10

Hey Paleo people!

I didn’t want to push my other post down but I thought you guys might feel weird about posting points on it…so here’s a separate one to update.

We have a had a few casualties to our challenge, but the ones left are holding strong! I’m having trouble going to sleep at night. Not sure why. No caffeine except coffee in the morning. Anyone else have this problem?

I’m going out of town from Thursday to Sunday and therefor will not be updating the scoreboard until then. So, help me keep it all straight and make sure you put the day your are posting points for IN the post, or just keep a running total and post all 4 days on Sunday sometime.

In the interest of being honest, I’ll probably not be holding too strictly to Paleo principles for those days. I have however planned to stay clean as much as possible. I made jerky, “granola”, paleo chocolates (don’t hold your breath- I licked my finger and wasn’t thrilled with it) I made some gluten/wheat/dairy free cookies for my nephew (they do have sugar though). So you can see I do have some alternatives. On the other hand, I bought a nice big bottle of Smirnoff Tuscan Lemonade. I was planning to do paleo margaritas, but dang! Tequila is expensive and I wasn’t willing to get the $5 stuff. (How about a nice bottle of Petron for $80?)

Question: How have your workouts changed in the last 10 days? Notice anything good, bad or otherwise? Are you sleeping better?

    You don’t. According to our challenge there is no alcohol. But, I’m sure the cave dwellers had Agave tequila and club soda and lime juice. Duh.

    Martha, I had trouble falling alseep last night too, but I attributed it to recent disruptions in my sleep cycle (like travelling, or staying up later on weekends) and having iced tea at night instead of beer or water. Who knows though, when I went to a clean eating program over a year ago I noticed that I fell asleep easier and slept better, maybe it is just detox but where you always eating crappy before though? I would expect someone like Alex to detox hard becuase she eats pizza 12 times a month and candy everyday, but i wouldnt expect the Jaalas of the world to detox at all (even after sugar bender week).

    tres generaciones anejo. they have it at TJs it runs ~35. smooth enough to drink with an ice cube. patron is fluff, i remember when it was ~35, then they marketed.

    other than that
    the scale is liking me and once i dip under that strange # that’s been difficult to budge below i anticipate smooth sailing as my body releases some stored stuff there’ s no more use to hold on to.

    it’s a good way to stay honest and have more accountability esp. during any weak moments or lack of clarity. it’s been really good.

    Brandon, how are you drinking iced tea? Isn’t there added sugar in that?
    I screwed up today…had to eat at Silvergreens for lunch and was proud of myself for getting a spinach salad with avo, walnuts, and apple; told em to put the dressing on the side, ate half the salad and realized they had put dressing on it. Darn. How many points off is salad dressing (raspberry vinaigrette)? I would say I got 5 points for today (minus one for the dressing being processed and minus one for it probably having sugar in it).
    SO: Day three, 5 points
    Feeling good otherwise.

    have a fun trip! My wods and recovery are nothing short of miraculous since I started the paleo + lots of fish oil 6 weeks ago. The difference is night and day

    Five points for wednesday. I guess we are in charge of our points from now until monday so, why bother posting points?, but fudge (minus butter, sugar, semi-sweet chocolate, evaporated milk) it, it helps me remember.

    with the pr i think u said u had after eating it
    i suggest you eat more greens
    you’ll be stronger and have bigger muscles than popeye no doubt!
    eat your greens
    they have lots of calcium and micro-nutrients u need.

    i’m pretty sure i won’t be TOO off but i’m rather sure of the fact i’ll consume a few alcoholic beverages–does each one count?
    i guess i’ll find out when i get back! i’ll keep count.

    i am feeling really great doing this too
    not counting food or points or much
    REALLY noticing a difference with MINOR alterations
    which is fantastic.
