We decided to surprise the kids on Monday and take them to the movies but we thought we would keep it a secret until we got there. I can tell you without a doubt that they probably would have been happier going to Black Angus to eat. We do eat out a fair amount (less since we’ve been on a stricter budget), but it still seems to be one of their favorite things to do.
On the way they were trying frantically to guess what it was and Riley was getting very annoyed and somewhere in the conversation we talked about the time we surprised Christian and Emma and took them to Disneyland without Riley because he was only 6 months old. Riley was saying how we never took him after that. We did. Here’s the proof. He was there, but he doesn’t remember. that kind of makes me sad. He was 5.
Maybe we should have waited a little longer so he would have a memory of it. I guess that just makes next time a little more special.
Can’t wait.
